Caveat Emptor

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh* this morning, and Fox News ("Fair and Balanced", everyone), lead with the following intro:

"People using Craigslist should be careful when purchasing goods and services from unknown sellers".

That piqued my curiosity a bit, because I use Craigslist, so when the commercial ended, I stuck with the story. Well, it turns out a man in Coon Rapids (that's Minnesota, people) responded to an escort service ad. The woman showed up at his front door, and he attempted to cancel. The man traveling with the woman (aka her pimp) then shot the "customer" in the face.

I kind of agree with Fox News. I think people really should be careful when using Craigslist. People ordering hookers. At a minimum, I'd urge them to request photos prior to a booking.







*Yes, Rush Limbaugh. I think the primaries have provided him with the best fodder for discussion he's had in over seven years, and if you're a liberal and aren't listening, you are missing PURE comedy. As for Craigslist, yes, I can see the (common) sense in asking people to swing by to check out your double stroller when your husband is home for the night and you both have your mobile phones handy. But, come on... "People using Craigslist should be careful"? I know it wouldn't have been nearly as sensational as leading with, "Recent events have led police to urge johns to pick up their hookers off the street..." but that's not exactly the kind of journalism I suppose I should expect from Fox.
